CUNEF Universidad's School of Engineering hosts an event with the HBO-i Foundation on AI and digitalization

The School of Engineering of CUNEF Universidad, together with HBO-i Foundation, held an event on March 24 focused on digitalization, the use of Artificial Intelligence in education, and the challenges faced by professionals in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector in the Netherlands.
Working sessions during the meeting
The meeting began with a brief presentation of the CUNEF Universidad's School of Engineering and HBO-i Foundation, before moving on to the talks scheduled for the simultaneous working sessions.
During the working sessions, discussions focused on the need to use AI in the development and expansion of education in order to determine the most effective ways to apply it, as well as the importance of highlighting AI-related skills in the curriculum of IT profiles.
Additionally, some sessions addressed the ICT market in the Netherlands, featuring three talks on the importance of ICT in delivering commercial services, the key role of dual education in addressing the short-term shortage of ICT professionals, and how interest in studying ICT in the Netherlands has declined while demand for these profiles in the labor market remains strong.
Furthermore, two roundtable discussions were held focusing on Lifelong Learning and digital sovereignty in Europe.
Closing of the event
The event concluded with a discussion on cybersecurity trends, following a full day of insightful talks that enabled attendees to better understand the labor market in the Netherlands and the landscape in which ICT operates in the country.
