Exploring impact investing with our alumnus Iñigo Serrats, co-founder of Impact Bridge

14 May 2026

The Almansa Campus Auditorium welcomed more than 200 attendees to the event organized by the Alumni Relations Department of CUNEF Universidad: the conference “From CUNEF Universidad to Co-Founding Impact Bridge” with Iñigo Serrats.

Serrats maintains a close connection with our university, not only as an alumnus but also as a lecturer, having taught several courses for more than a decade. Alongside his outstanding academic background, he has built an extensive career in finance. He currently works at Impact Bridge, an impact investment management firm and platform he co-founded with Arturo Benito. The company, which already manages €550 million in investments and employs more than 25 professionals, specializes in connecting private and institutional capital with projects that generate measurable social and environmental impact alongside financial returns.

Attendees had the opportunity to learn first-hand about his professional journey, from studying finance to ultimately dedicating his career to impact investing. In his own words, “I began my professional career working in the asset management industry, but it was not by chance. To get to where I wanted to work, I first carried out a very thorough reflection on what I truly wanted to do. In fact, before deciding which degree to study, the very first thing I did, while still in school, was explore different options and tell my parents that I wanted to study at CUNEF Universidad.”

A triple vocation

Looking back on that stage of his life with affection and pride, Serrats highlighted the key role CUNEF Universidad played in helping him discover the three main vocations that have shaped his professional path. According to Serrats, “the first vocation I discovered was clearly finance. I loved it and, in addition, I was fortunate enough to have an outstanding group of professors whom I have always remembered throughout my career.

The inspiration provided by his professors at CUNEF Universidad also helped him discover his second vocation: teaching. For Serrats, “because I had such excellent professors, I wanted to become like them, and that is how I ended up teaching at CUNEF for more than a decade.” In this sense, the event also served as a reunion point with former students and classmates from his own graduating class.

As for his third vocation, helping others, Serrats explained that “it is something you do not necessarily discover during university, but I did discover it during that stage of my life. Fortunately, later on, I was able to combine all three vocations in the work I do today.” In this regard, Serrats emphasized the importance of an excellent education, particularly the knowledge and experience CUNEF Universidad provides in preparing future professionals.

At the end of the conference, attendees enjoyed a networking session accompanied by a cocktail reception, where they had the opportunity to speak with Serrats and reconnect with classmates and fellow alumni from CUNEF Universidad.
