The fifth edition of the “Workshop on Current Topics of Corporate Finance” brought together nearly 50 finance experts from leading European and U.S. universities at CUNEF Universidad to present research on ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria and financial management.
The event opened with welcoming remarks by Adoración Álvaro Moya, dean of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law at CUNEF Universidad, who highlighted the importance of research in today’s financial landscape.
The workshop, jointly organized by José María Martín-Flores, Professor in the Department of Finance and Accounting at CUNEF Universidad, Alberta Di Giuli (ESCP Business School), and Arthur Romec (Toulouse Business School Education), featured presentations on a range of topics, including ESG criteria, wage inequality, technological advances, and green finance.
Presentations by Finance Experts
The papers presented addressed topics such as institutional investors’ commitments to ESG criteria, the ways in which investors influence the adoption and reporting of ESG policies, and investment fund strategies related to socially responsible investing. All presentations were of a high academic standard and employed advanced quantitative methods in their analyses.
Through initiatives such as this, CUNEF Universidad continues to strengthen its international collaboration network and promote the development of innovative research in key areas of finance, contributing to the analysis of today’s most pressing economic and business challenges.
