CUNEF Universidad welcomes more than 350 graduates to its annual Alumni Day

Over 350 CUNEF Universidad graduates attended the inaugural Alumni Day held on 23 May at the Almansa Campus in Madrid. The event was designed to celebrate the university’s alumni community and strengthen ties with the professionals who have shaped the institution’s history.

The event, which brought together alumni from the Classes of 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001, 2006 and 2011 to commemorate their graduation anniversaries, showcased the strength of a network of over 15,000 graduates, built throughout the institution’s 50-year history. Alumni Day serves as a forum to share experiences, renew professional ties and reinforce the sense of belonging to a community committed to excellence, innovation and social impact.

A key highlight of the day was the conversation between Luis de Guindos, Vice-President of the European Central Bank and CUNEF Universidad alumnus, and Ismael Clemente, CEO of MERLIN Properties. Moderated by Antonio Rodríguez-Pina, Chairman of the Board of CUNEF Universidad, the discussion focused on leadership, adapting to an ever-evolving globalised world, and their vision for the future.

Antonio Rodríguez-Pina, also an alumnus, highlighted CUNEF Universidad’s commitment to its graduates. “We consider it part of our responsibility to strengthen the alumni community by fostering ties with a network of professionals whose outstanding careers bring immense value to the university,” he stated.

Luis de Guindos remarked that “what you learn at university when you are young stays with you for life. Needless to say, for me it has always been a pleasure and a source of pride to have been part of CUNEF Universidad. As a member of the very first graduating class, I am deeply impressed by the institution’s evolution. It is vital for teaching to stay ahead of future demands”. 

A strong sense of community 

The day continued with a networking cocktail, commemorative photos of the different Classes and guided tours of the newly inaugurated Almansa Campus. It was a day for reconnecting, shared memories and a common desire to keep building the alumni community. With this inaugural Alumni Day, CUNEF Universidad reaffirms its bond with its former students, who represent a vital part of the institution’s legacy, its present and its future.
