Appointed Associate Professor by Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 2014, Professor Sendra was the Deputy Director of the Department of Mathematics for ICT for 7 years. She has been teaching courses on mathematics for over 28 years at different universities in Madrid, and supervised final degree projects, master’s dissertations and PhD theses. She has published over 40 articles in JCR-indexed journals, a scholarly book, several book chapters and multiple papers and presentations. She has participated in the Scientific and/or Organising Committee in several national and international congresses, and been on visits and research stays at international research centres such as Johannes Kepler Universität (Austria), University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong), University of Tsukuba, (Japan), University of Technology (Austria) and University of Genova, among others. She has participated in 15 Spanish and 4 European research projects.

Computer Algebra (symbolic computation, effective algorithms, algebraic equation solving, complexity theory, implementations, applications), Symbolic Methods in Geometry (effective algorithms for curves and surfaces, parameterisations of curves and surfaces, offset varieties, conchoid varieties, algorithmic analysis in real case, implementations, applications in computer-aided geometric design), Symbolic-Numerical Computation (hybrid algorithms in algebraic and geometric problems), Matrix Visualization (Theoretical and algorithmic treatment of B/C inverse, Bohemian Matrices: experimentation and properties).
