CUNEF Universidad’s School of Engineering will introduce the Bachelor in Industrial Engineering and Management for the 2027–2028 academic year
3 November 2026
CUNEF Universidad will add the Bachelor in Industrial Engineering and Management to its academic offering from the 2027–2028 academic year. This new degree, offered by its School of Engineering, aims to prepare professionals to design, manage and improve services and production systems of companies. The degree responds to the growing demand for professionals who combine engineering, business management and advanced technologies to enhance the quality, efficiency and customer experience of the services provided by organisations.
Based at the Ciudad Universitaria campus in Madrid, the School of Engineering will deliver the new degree as a four-year, on-campus programme totalling 240 ECTS credits. Teaching will be offered in Spanish or English, with data engineering and artificial intelligence used as tools for the continuous improvement of services and processes.
An education that integrates engineering and management to improve services
The curriculum combines a solid scientific and technological foundation with specialised training in production organisation, operations management, logistics and project management. This foundation supports a cross-disciplinary approach to service design and improvement: alongside knowledge of economics, finance and business management, artificial intelligence, data engineering and automation are applied to measure, redesign and optimise how services are delivered.
Credits are distributed as follows: 60 ECTS for basic courses, 162 ECTS for compulsory courses, 12 ECTS for internships or elective courses and 6 ECTS for the Final Degree Project. Throughout the programme, students will learn to redesign and optimise services, processes and industrial facilities; plan production and supply chains; apply simulation techniques to anticipate the impact of each improvement; use data and artificial intelligence to enhance service efficiency and quality; and lead technological projects and multidisciplinary teams.
Career opportunities to lead process improvement
Graduates will be prepared to lead industrial and technological transformation projects aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of organisations’ services, aligning engineering solutions with strategic business objectives.
Career pathways include technology and operations consulting, operations management, logistics and supply chain management, industrial project management, data analytics applied to industry, automation and digital transformation, with the continuous improvement of services and processes as a common thread.
Quality, innovation and close ties to the professional world
The new degree will be integrated into CUNEF Universidad’s educational model, characterised by academic rigour, innovation, excellence, an international outlook and close ties to the professional world. This approach aims to prepare highly qualified professionals with critical thinking skills, digital competencies, leadership capabilities and the ability to thrive in constantly changing environments.
CUNEF Universidad’s School of Engineering has nearly 1,000 students and is based at its Ciudad Universitaria campus in Madrid. Its academic portfolio includes seven other highly sought-after undergraduate programmes: the Bachelors in Computer Engineering, Mathematical Engineering and Data Science, and the Double Bachelors in Business Administration and Computer Engineering, Economics and Mathematical Engineering, Business Administration and Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. These double degrees also provide students with a multidisciplinary education and a distinctive professional profile, helping them stand out in an increasingly competitive job market where specialisation and versatility are essential.
In addition, all undergraduate students at CUNEF Universidad can complement their degree with a Minor, a specialisation taught in English in one of nine available disciplines. Minors are taken progressively throughout the degree, with academic schedules compatible with the classes and requirements of the main programme. Options most closely aligned with STEM disciplines include the Minor in Data Science, the Minor in Artificial Intelligence and the Minor in Robotics, allowing students to broaden their education with complementary competencies and further strengthen their distinctive professional profile.
