José Ramón Díez Guijarro is Chief Economist of Bankia. He has developed a 30 years long career as a macroeconomic economist and analyst of monetary policy, country risk and financial markets. During that time he has combined his work as an economic and financial analyst with teaching in various institutions: CESMA, CEU and ICADE. Currently, he enjoys a position as an associate professor at IE Business School; Professor of Spanish Economic Structure at CUNEF and honorary professor at Rey Juan Carlos University.
Contributes periodically with opinion articles in various publications and newspapers, such as ABC, Expansión, Capital, Cuadernos de Información Económica and the IE Business School Blog. He frequently participates at professional symposiums and discussion forums and also stands as an active economic adviser at the GACE (a Spanish think tank for the economic analysis).
