CUNEF Universidad brings together experts from different universities for the 22nd edition of the “Non-Associative Day in Madrid”
6 June 2026
CUNEF Universidad hosted the 22nd edition of the Non-Associative Day in Madrid ’26, as part of the activities dedicated to the study of non-associative algebras. The meeting brought together around twenty participants and featured presentations by international researchers from the University of Padua and the University of Lisbon, as well as scholars from Spanish institutions including the Technical University of Madrid, the University of Valencia, the University of La Rioja, Rey Juan Carlos University, and the University of Málaga.
The seminar is part of the activities of the European Non-Associative Algebra Network and promotes research and dissemination of topics related to non-associative algebraic structures. During the session, researchers addressed subjects such as the structure and classification of Jordan, Leibniz, and Poisson algebras, the Yang–Baxter equation, Hopf algebra theory, and the study of evolution algebras, among other topics.
International Experts
The conference was coordinated by researcher Ivan Kaygorodov from the University of Beira Interior (UBI), Portugal, and Yannic Vargas, Professor in the Department of Mathematics at CUNEF Universidad. Its objective was to bring together international experts—including researchers from Rey Juan Carlos University and members of the European Non-Associative Algebra Seminar—to share fundamental theoretical advances in the field.
Since its creation in 2022, the network has organized five annual events (three intensive one-day conferences, one week-long conference, and one virtual conference). To date, these meetings have been held in Athens (Greece); Covilhã, Ponta Delgada, Braga, Funchal, Lisbon, and Coimbra (Portugal); Tashkent and Andijan (Uzbekistan); Madrid and Cáceres (Spain); and Mulhouse (France). In addition, this year the network launched the scientific journal JoNAS (Journal of Non-Associative Structures).
Through initiatives such as this one, CUNEF Universidad strengthens its commitment to collaboration with international institutions in order to promote advances in mathematical research.
