CUNEF Universidad, first Spanish partner to join LSE Global Programmes

4 June 2026

As of next academic year, CUNEF Universidad will expand its offering with the University of London’s BSc International Relations. The programme, which has the academic direction of The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), will be delivered as a Double Bachelor alongside CUNEF Universidad’s degrees in Law and in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. This collaboration positions CUNEF Universidad as the first and only Recognised Teaching Centre in Spain to join the prestigious international LSE Global Programmes network.

After sealing this strategic alliance with the University of London (UoL), the Spanish University shall add the Double Bachelor in Law and International Relations and the Double Bachelor in Philosophy, Politics & Economics and International Relations to its existing academic offering. Students who successfully complete these programmes will earn two degrees: one from CUNEF Universidad and another from the University of London, under the academic direction of The London School of Economics and Political Science, one of the world’s most influential and respected academic institutions in economics, politics and social sciences.

The alliance is the crowning achievement of a long-standing collaboration between the institutions and serves as an explicit endorsement of CUNEF Universidad’s academic excellence and global vision.

Dr. Francesco Nava, Academic Director of Global Programmes and Assistant Professor of Economics at LSE said: "This partnership is an important moment for LSE Global Programmes in Spain. With CUNEF Universidad, we are creating an academic pathway that connects Madrid and London, and prepares students to think critically across law, politics and international relations from a truly global perspective."

Ana I. Fernández, Rector of CUNEF Universidad, highlights that “partnering with institutions of the standing of the University of London and LSE is the natural result of a shared vision of academic excellence. Becoming their only Recognised Teachng Centre in Spain serves as an external validation of our training model, built on rigour and internationalisation. Our goal is to offer students the knowledge and skills required to lead in a complex world, and this alliance enables us to achieve it."

A unique academic proposal with a global outlook

This model enables CUNEF Universidad students to obtain a second international degree without interrupting their studies in Madrid. They will benefit from an education of academic excellence and recognised international prestige, developed by LSE and CUNEF Universidad. The curriculum will equip them with cutting-edge knowledge, a global perspective and an interdisciplinary approach, designed to help them address the major challenges of today’s world.

The Double Bachelor in Philosophy, Politics & Economics and International Relations, delivered entirely in English, merges economic and political analysis with the critical reasoning of philosophy and the analysis of the power and governance dynamics that shape the global order. The curriculum integrates PPE disciplines with quantitative data analysis methods and includes an academic immersion at LSE Summer School in London, where students study LSE-taught courses alongside an international cohort and experience academic life in one of the world’s leading global cities. Students can complement their education with minors in areas such as International & European Law or Business & Finance.

The Double Bachelor in Law and International Relations combines a rigorous legal grounding in Spanish with deep insights into the institutions and dynamics that govern international relations, delivered in English. The programme prepares students to operate in transnational environments, complementing their training with an academic immersion at LSE Summer School. Additionally, students can specialise further through minors in cutting-edge areas such as Digital and Artificial Intelligence Law or International and European Law.

A model of excellence

With a track record of more than 50 years dedicated to higher education, CUNEF Universidad is firmly established as a leading institution in Spain. The university currently has 4,900 students and a network of over 15,000 alumni. Its educational model is characterised by its strong ties to the professional sector, supported by more than 2,000 agreements with national and international companies.

The quality of its academic offering has been further endorsed by the prestigious AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) international accreditation. This distinction, awarded to 13 of its undergraduate and graduate programmes in Business Administration, serves as a testament to the institution’s excellence, positioning it among the world’s top business schools.
