Professor Chiarella, who has a Ph.D. in Finance from Bocconi University, is the Director of the Department of Finance and Accounting at CUNEF Universidad, as well as a Fellow at the BAFFI CAREFIN Centre for Applied Research on International Markets, Banking, Finance and Regulation. His fields of research are corporate finance and banking, especially in the contexts of capital markets, private equity and mergers and acquisitions. He has authored several articles in these areas, including publications in the Journal of Financial Econometrics, the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money, the International Review of Economics and Finance, the International Review of Financial Analysis and the European Financial Management. He is also a contributing author and co-editor of two books on infrastructure finance published by Springer. He is the Lead Researcher in two projects sponsored by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation.
