FormatIn-person

The workshop Modern perspectives on the Mathematics of Fluids (MPMF) highlights recent advances in the rigorous analysis of fluid models. Core themes include PDE theory for the Euler and Navier–Stokes equations — covering well-posedness, regularity, finite time singularities and weak or measure-valued solutions — as well as boundary layers and free boundaries, transport and mixing, stability and long-time dynamics, and modern analytical techniques such as convex integration, compensated compactness, and spectral or semigroup methods.

Hosted at the ICMAT (June 15, 16 and 18) and CUNEF Universidad (Aula Magna – Almansa Campus, June 17 and 19) in Madrid, the workshop aims to showcase new techniques and open problems, foster lively exchanges between analysts at all career stages, and outline key questions driving current research in mathematical fluid dynamics.

The event will bring together leading experts and early-career researchers interested in the analytical study of fluid motion. Through a series of invited and contributed talks, participants will have the opportunity to share their latest results, exchange ideas, and discuss promising directions for future work.

Organized by Diego Cordoba (ICMAT, Madrid), Oscar Domínguez (CUNEF Universidad, Madrid), Alberto Enciso (ICMAT, Madrid), Luis Martínez-Zoroa (CUNEF Universidad, Madrid) and Daniel Peralta-Salas (ICMAT, Madrid).
