CUNEF Universidad holds a Graduation Ceremony for the Graduate and International Business School’s Class of 2026

15 July 2026

CUNEF Universidad held the formal Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2026 of its Graduate and International Business School. The event, held at the Almansa Campus, gathered nearly 800 people, including students, their families, faculty members, academic authorities, and corporate leaders to celebrate one of the most significant moments of university life, underscoring the dedication, academic excellence and career focus fostered by an educational model designed to address the challenges of a complex and constantly evolving market.

During the ceremony, stoles were presented to the graduates of six of CUNEF Universidad’s 11 master programmes, namely the Master in Finance; the Master in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence; the Master in Banking Law and Financial Markets & Institutions; the Master in International Business and Global Management; the Master in Management; and the Master in Economic Analysis and Public Policy. The recipients of the Extraordinary End-of-Degree Awards were honoured for their academic performance.

A prominent highlight of the ceremony was the student address, featuring remarks by Álvaro Lerín Humada, student of the Master in Finance, and Marta Pose Carrera, of the Master in International Business and Global Management. Representing the graduating class, they shared their reflections on their time at CUNEF Universidad and the exciting professional opportunities ahead.

Ana Isabel Fernández, Rector of CUNEF Universidad, presided over the event, which was opened  by Leticia Santos, Director of the Graduate and International Business School. In her address, Professor Santos congratulated the students and stressed that “in the era of artificial intelligence, talent, good judgment and human insight will be essential”.

Sponsor of the Class of 2026

The sponsor of the Class of 2026 was Luis Megías, CUNEF alumnus and Country Head for Iberia at Black Rock, the world’s largest asset management firm. In his inspiring commencement speech, he pointed out that “we are witnessing the birth of a new world order”, and that it will be new graduates’ “privilege and responsibility to build it”. According to Megías, this “dawn of a new era” will require “learning to learn”, and the real competitive advantage will be in “our ability to synthesise knowledge, connect ideas, make decisions and work with others to translate it into true impact”.

At the end of his speech, he shared valuable advice for future professionals, appealing to their ability to empathise, listen, and build authentic personal relationships, and insisting on the importance of ethics, reputation and, especially, generosity. In this sense, he assured graduates that “leaders’ true success is measured by the number of people they help to succeed”.

The event also featured an address by Antonio Rodríguez-Pina, Chairman of the Board of CUNEF Universidad, who emphasised that building a career is a long-term project in which “talent is important, but sustained effort is more decisive”, adding that “intelligence opens up opportunities, but discipline is what allows you to make the most of them”.

Rector Ana Isabel Fernández highlighted that “graduate education occupies a central place in any university committed to excellence. At CUNEF Universidad, it combines specialisation, research, innovation, critical thinking and dedication”. In this regard, she emphasised the university’s recent AACSB international accreditation, widely recognised as one of the most prestigious global benchmarks for quality in business and management education.

To conclude, she encouraged graduates to “remain active members of the university’s 15,000-strong Alumni community, a network designed to provide lifelong support and professional collaboration”. Expressing her confidence that their time at CUNEF Universidad has equipped them to “think critically and openly, be creative and innovative, and look for knowledge in the right places”, she concluded that “this is the spirit you will carry with you as you face the future from this day forward”.
