Biography
Manuel Balmaseda is the Director of the Instituto Español de Banca y Finanzas at CUNEF Universidad. He is Lecturer in the Department of Economics at CUNEF Universidad. He holds a PhD in Economics from Northwestern University and a BA in Economics, Government, and Mathematics-Computer Science from Colby College. Since 2023, he has been Director of the Spanish Institute of Banking and Finance at CUNEF Universidad, where he also teaches. He was a professor at CEMFI and has taught in postgraduate and executive programs at IE University, IESE Business School, and Helsinki School of Economics. He worked in the Research Department of the IMF and was a visiting researcher at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. His academic activity focuses on international macroeconomics, with focus on policy and applied economic analysis.
