Students at the School of Engineering explore the uses of data science in sports

Last Wednesday, 7 May, the School of Engineering of CUNEF Universidad held a conference on “Data Science in sports: Computer Vision for football, the NBA and the NFL”, given by three analysts and data scientists from SkillCorner. During the session, the speakers explained how artificial intelligence and specialised algorithms can be used to detect key moments in the game in real time in sports like football, basketball, or American football, sharing real-life examples in which visual analysis tools have driven performance and enabled faster strategic decisions based on objective evidence.

The conference, held at the Pyrenees Campus, included the participation of Miguel Houghton, Basketball & American Football Data Analyst, Diego Bartoli, Football Data Analyst, and Guillermo Mora, American Football Data Scientist.
