Last Tuesday, 22 April, the Auditorium of the Almansa Campus hosted the closing ceremony of the first mentoring programme organised by the Women in Banking association for CUNEF Universidad. The initiative, which involved the participation of 35 students, mainly from the Master in Finance, and 35 mentors from 11national and international financial institutions, gave students the chance to enhance their leadership skills, discover new career options and opportunities, and start building their network in the financial industry.

The event included opening speeches from Alejandra Kindelán, Chair of the Spanish Banking Association and the AEB Foundation, and Adoración Álvaro Moya, Dean of the School of Business, Economics and Law. This was followed by a panel discussion, chaired by José María Cuervo-Arango, Leadership Development Practice Lead at LHH, during which three mentors and three participating students shared their insights on their experience during the mentoring programme.

The students highlighted some of the lessons learned during these months, namely the importance of remaining true to one’s values, of setting clear objectives, and of working hard to make the world better for future generations, and the value of interacting with and listening to other classmates in professional and academic contexts.
