Biography
Yannic Vargas is an Assistant Professor on Tenure Track in the Department of Mathematics at CUNEF Universidad. Before joining CUNEF Universidad, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institut für Diskrete Mathematik of Graz University of Technology (TU Graz), the Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS), the Institute of Mathematics at the University of Potsdam, the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research, and the Fields Institute in Toronto. He has supervised two theses (undergraduate and master's) in mathematics and has served as a reviewer for several international journals (Letters in Mathematical Physics, Advances in Applied Mathematics, Semigroup Forum, Algebraic Combinatorics).

Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Université du Québec à Montréal (2015)
Master's degree in Fundamental Mathematics from the Université du Québec à Montréal (2009)
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the Universidad Central de Venezuela (2006)
Research Interests
Algebraic combinatorics, Hopf algebras, species, operads, free probability.
