Biography

Ana María Vall is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Law at CUNEF Universidad. She holds a Law degree, accreditation of research proficiency, and a PhD in Law from the Universidad de Barcelona. She is Co-Director of the University Expert Program in Restorative Practices at UDIMA and the Spanish School of Mediation. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Observatory of the Rights of Individuals of the Barcelona Bar Association. She received the 2021 ADR Justice Award for the best doctoral thesis in ADR from the Department of Justice of the Government of Catalonia. She has been a member of the team responsible for updating the judicial referral protocols to mediation of the General Council of the Judiciary (2016 and 2024). She was Principal Investigator of the family mediation research team for "El Libro Blanco de la Mediación de Cataluña" (2010). She served as Spain's representative in the EU research program on Restorative Justice, "COST Action A-2," from 2004 to 2007. She was also Principal Investigator of the research project "El Programa de Mediación en la Jurisdicción Penal Ordinaria" at the Centro de Estudios Jurídicos y Formación Especializada (2003).
