Biography
Gianluca Russo is a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at CUNEF Universidad. He received his PhD in Economics in 2020 from Boston University and secured a postdoctoral position at the Barcelona School of Economics until 2025. Gianluca is an applied microeconomist interested in political economy, development economics, and economic history. His research focuses on the determinants of cohesive and well-functioning nations, as well as the causes of their decline and the rise of authoritarian regimes. During his studies, he has also gained valuable insights on the role played by media in these scenarios.
