Alberto Pliego Marugán holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering (2016) from the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha. He is accredited as a lecturer by ANECA. He was a Research Associate in the Lebow College of Business of Drexel University, Philadelphia (USA) and the School of Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering, Birmingham (UK). He has collaborated in several European and national R&D projects. His main research interests lie in the development and application of intelligent algorithms to optimize decision making and, consequently, the operation and efficiency of industrial systems. He has published several papers, book chapters and monographs. He has worked as an Associate Lecturer in different universities, such as the School of Industrial Engineers of Almadén, ESIC Business & Marketing School and CUNEF.
