Biography
Carlos Lorenzo has a Bachelor in Computer Science, a Bachelor in Education, a Master in Computer Science and a PhD in Computer Science. He worked as an IT Civil Servant in the Spanish Ministry of Education until he joined the Regional Government of Madrid as a technical assistant. He also worked as an IT consultant at Ernst & Young (EY), and then taught at several European and American universities as an Associate Professor.
He is a senior researcher in the IERU group of Universidad de Alcalá, and has carried out doctoral stays in several European universities. His research focuses on web sciences, operational and analytical data, software architectures, immersive environments and cloud computing for education. Professor Lorenzo is a member of several international associations, and works as a reviewer in a number of scientific journals. He has authored books and papers published in relevant peer-reviewed journals. He was invited by Professor Sanjay E. Sarma to the first edition of J-WEL at MIT (Boston, MA).
