Biography
Juan Manuel López is an Associate Professor in the Department of Quantitative Methods at CUNEF Universidad. He holds a PhD in Economics, is a certified insurance actuary, and a professor of Statistics and Operations Research (UCM). Formerly at CUNEF, he served as Chief Data Officer and co-director of two Data Science master's programs and an executive program in Digital Transformation. He has taught at UCM, Berkeley, CEU, UPSA, and Universidad Pontificia Comillas. He has supervised four doctoral theses and is the author of Retorno al Patrón Oro and Alquimia. He belongs to various professional and scientific associations, including the Institute of Actuaries, SEIO, IEEE, FOAS, the Data Science Association, Data Science Central, and ENBIS. He served as Director General of Economy of the Comunidad de Madrid (2021-2025).
