Biography
Laureano González is Full Professor in the Department of Quantitative Methods at CUNEF Universidad. He is Full Professor of Algebra since 2002. He has published numerous scientific articles, supervised eleven doctoral theses, and led national and European research projects. He holds six six-year research evaluation periods ("sexenios") and one for knowledge transfer. He is co-founder of the EACA conference series (Meetings on Computer Algebra and Applications) and editor of La Columna de Matemática Computacional in the journal La Gaceta de la RSME. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Cantabria (2001-2003), General Director for Universities and Research in the Government of Cantabria (2004-2005), Director of the International Center for Mathematical Meetings-CIEM (2006-2008), Scientific Coordinator of the CONSOLIDER - INGENIO 2010 program at the Ministry of Science and Innovation (2007-2010), and Deputy Diretor for the Evaluation of Programs and Institutions at ANECA (2009-2012).
