Madrid Public Economics Workshop 2025 analyses current challenges in tax policies and public economics

5 September 2025

Last 4 and 5 September, CUNEF Universidad hosted a new edition of the Madrid Public Economics Workshop, co-organised by professors from CUNEF Universidad, Imperial College London and Universitat de Barcelona. MadPub 2025 brought together leading researchers to discuss the current challenges involved in public economics, with a special focus on tax policies.

The keynote speeches addressed the relationship between equity and tax compliance, as well as the confusion created by complex tax systems. The speakers also discussed, among other topics, theoretical and empirical research on wealth transmission and inheritance division in Europe, or the impact of taxes on vehicle purchase decisions.

MadPub 2025 was attended by researchers from international institutions and universities including the London School of Economics, Imperial College London, Sciences Po, Paris School of Economics, UCLA Anderson School of Management, the KOF Swiss Economic Institute and Banco de España.
