CUNEF Universidad hosts an international workshop on the latest trends in MFD
19 December 2025
Last 17 and 19 December, the Auditorium of the Almansa Campus hosted the workshop “Recent Trends in Mathematical Fluid Dynamics”, organised jointly by CUNEF Universidad and the Institute of Mathematical Sciences (ICMAT). Almost 60 researchers, including leading experts and early-stage researchers, discussed the most recent advances in the rigorous analysis of fluid models, with special emphasis on PDE theory in Euler and Navier-Stokes equations, turbulence, water waves, the formation of singularities in finite time, and long-term dynamics.
During the workshop, the experts also introduced new techniques and addressed open problems in fluid dynamics. The event encouraged the discussion between researchers at different stages of their academic career, allowing them to identify several key research topics in this branch of physics and mathematics. It included lectures and paper presentations, with researchers from international institutions such as Princeton University, New York University, Brown University or Westlake University, among others. The workshop was organised by Óscar Domínguez Bonilla, professor of the Department of Mathematics at CUNEF Universidad, and Diego Córdoba and Fan Zheng, researchers at ICMAT.
