The 7th and last session of “Thursday Law at CUNEF Universidad”, a cycle on current legal topics held this academic year 2024–2025, took place last Thursday, 8 May. Francisco Marín Castán, former President of the Supreme Court, Francisco Pérez de los Cobos, former President of the Constitutional Court, and Consuelo Madrigal, former Attorney General, talked about “Legal challenges in the 21st century”. During the session, chaired by Andrés Betancor, Director of the Department of Law at CUNEF Universidad, they analysed the guarantees of the Spanish legal system, the threats to its institutions, and the reforms required to bolster its independence and make it more effective.

This seminar series, aimed at legal experts and students, analyses current legal topics using a dynamic approach and leveraging the expertise of three guest speakers, always relevant professionals and legal experts. During academic year 2024–2025, participants have analysed issues such as the European Super League, the quality of regulation and legal certainty, legal strategies in takeover bids, the competencies that banking legal services seek in law graduates or the housing situation in Spain.
