Dr. Lorena Arismendy Mengual is a dedicated legal professional who earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Universidad Externado de Colombia in 2012. With a specialized focus on Civil Liability Law, she further honed her expertise at the same institution before pursuing a Master’s Degree in Private Law at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Her academic journey led her to complete her Ph.D. in Law at the same prestigious university in 2022.
Dr. Arismendy Mengual’s outstanding doctoral thesis delves into the intricate interplay between civil liability and unjustified enrichment arising from the restitution of illicit gains in private law matters. Under the mentorship of Professors Pedro del Olmo García and Xabier Basozabal Arrue, her rigorous research and insightful analysis garnered her a cum laude distinction, as well as the prestigious UC3M Outstanding Theses Award in 2023.
