In an effort to meet the new demands of the job market, and building upon the degrees that have defined our history —Business Administration, Law and Economics— CUNEF Universidad has added new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) programmes and courses.

School of Business, Economics & Law

This degree is designed to prepare professionals to succeed in management and advisory roles in all types of organisations and business areas. Students gain the skills required to identify and anticipate opportunities, allocate resources, organise information, recruit and motivate people, make decisions, achieve proposed objectives and assess results. The curriculum includes specific credits for Data Science (Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Programming) in corporate environments, as well as the option of specialising further in either Data Science or International Finance & Banking by pursuing the corresponding minor.

Economics has evolved into an empirical science that uses theoretical frameworks to analyse and understand data. Students will develop the necessary professional skills and knowledge to identify and anticipate opportunities, allocate resources, organise information, recruit and motivate people, make decisions, reach goals and assess results. Additionally, CUNEF Universidad offers minors in International Finance & Banking or Data Science to allow students to specialise further.

The Bachelor in Business Engineering is designed to train professionals to lead the digital transformation process in companies and organisations of all types. Students will learn all about the different functional areas within an organisation, and acquire the technological competencies required for business management, project management and business intelligence, including information systems, big data and artificial intelligence.

The Bachelor in International Business & Economics is designed to shape professionals who are capable of rigorously interpreting economic and socio-political systems in a complex and ever-changing environment, and effectively applying their conclusions in corporate, financial, governmental, or other organisations, with an analytical approach and an international perspective. To this end, this degree offered by CUNEF Universidad combines the principles of Economics, Business Management and Law, with basic knowledge of other social sciences, such as International Relations, Politics, Sociology and History, as well as with quantitative methods to facilitate decision making and effective communication skills. In the last two years of the degree, students can choose between three different specialisations: International Business and Global Management, International Economics and Government,  and International Finance and Law.

The Bachelor in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) combines Economics and Political Science with the logical reasoning and critical analysis inherent to Philosophy. This interdisciplinary approach seeks to train professionals for any type of governmental or business organisation, to prepare them to interpret the socioeconomic, political and cultural environment and thus enable them to make decisions based on rigorous reasoning substantiated by formal logic and critical thinking. The specific courses in Philosophy, Economics and Politics, with a similar weight in the degree, are complemented with transversal courses to familiarise our graduates with the tools of quantitative and qualitative analysis in Humanities.

The Bachelor in Law enables students to become lawyers, attorneys, business advisors or corporate consultants, as well as higher officers in public service (judges, prosecutors, notaries, state’s attorneys, finance inspectors, etc…). Graduates will exercise their profession in a global, innovative world, and therefore these aspects take on special relevance in the Curriculum. Likewise, digitalisation and technology are central elements of the environment that students operate in, which is why the programme delves into Law and its interactions with Finance.

School of Engineering

This Bachelor in Computer Science is designed to shape professionals who can provide efficient solutions to the technological challenges (involving software, hardware, networks…) faced by corporations, public administrations and society in general. Their job is to design solutions that strike a balance between conflicting goals considering the constraints they face in each situation.

The Curriculum includes the necessary theoretical foundations based on Mathematics, Statistics, Physics and Computing to enable students to develop, implement and maintain the software and hardware required for modern data storage and management systems, which are crucial to today’s decision-making processes in any field.

The Bachelor in Mathematical Engineering aims to shape experts who can conceive and design optimal models and algorithms to effectively solve real problems faced by companies and society in general. Students learn how to model these problems mathematically, using linear and nonlinear systems of equations in the presence of data uncertainties, as well as how to implement computer systems that facilitate communication with software and hardware engineers.  

Future graduates will be able to build a career in industries such as banking, finance, insurance, logistics, or technology, or specialise in the development and innovation of sustainable systems. CUNEF Universidad provides all its students with user licenses for Maple and MATLAB, very powerful tools that they use to learn how to program and solve Mathematical Engineering problems.

The Double Bachelor in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science prepares students for a career in technology project development working in multidisciplinary teams. The curriculum contains specific courses on cloud-based data processing, computational intelligence, smart and web application development, and robotics, among others.

This Double Bachelor expands the vision and knowledge of data scientists to transform them into intelligent systems engineers who can design sustainable computer systems to produce and process relevant data for companies and organizations. These specialized experts can work in process automation projects, RPA (Robotic Process Automation) design, robotization systems and sensor networks.
