CUNEF hosts the 8th edition of the Jaime Fernández de Araoz Corporate Finance Award

The award ceremony, which was presided over by His Majesty King Felipe VI, was held in CUNEF last Monday, 26 September.

The Jaime Fernández de Araoz Award aims to contribute to the development of economy and corporate finance by granting recognition to research in this field. In this edition, the award went to the paper “Index funds and the future of corporate governance: theory, evidence and policy”, presented by Professors Lucian Bebchuk and Scott Hirst, on the impact of the decisions made by indexed fund managers on corporate governance, on the operations of listed companies and on the economy.

Lucian Bebchuk is a Professor of Law, Economics, and Finance, as well as the Director of the Corporate Governance Program at Harvard Law School. Scott Hirst serves as an Associate Professor of Law at Boston University.
